Caribou Public Library Collection

The 150th Celebration Committee is a grassroots effort by the citizens of Caribou to celebrate the last 150 years of our community. Our goal is to showcase some of that history and preserve it for future generations. To honor that history we are organizing a number of events that our community can enjoy throughout 2009.

We begin our events in February with an Irish Night and a sprint ski race in the heart of the City. The largest portion of the 150th Celebration occurs during a two week celebration from August 22nd through September 6th. Some of the events include a play outlining the history of Caribou at the Caribou Performance Arts, a time capsule, a Celebration Ball, the largest parade seen in years, a great fireworks display and many other events put on by numerous individuals, service clubs, churches and businesses within our community.
